Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. She worked later as morning news anchor for WCBD TV and also as a crime reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective police response to DUI instances in Charleston resulted in an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell won an award for the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. After her time at Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative journalist. She then was hired by Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. As well as her role as anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and also to Dateline NBC. She was a reporter for events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
