Burns started her career on the television screen in 1995 portraying the role of Peg as a supporting role for the Spanish American teen comedy Out of the Blue (from 1995-1996). Burns was on the Baywatch group in 1998. Later, she starred in Baywatch: Hawaii's second Baywatch: Hawaii version until her pregnancy forced her to quit the show.
